San Diego Garden Wedding Venues, garden weddings, how to plan a garden weddingBeautiful Garden Weddings in Southern California

Plan a beautiful Garden Wedding in Southern California.  There are so many wonder, natural sites to choose from. The great advantage is Mother Nature provides the decor and ambiance for you! A garden setting lends a little bit of nostalgia and old fashioned charm and seems to provide a relaxed atmosphere for the bride and groom, the family and the guests. Some gardens also can provide a cutting edge background because they have exciting topiaries or maybe a garden of cactus and succulents which when in bloom are amazing!

San Diego Garden Wedding Venues, garden weddings, how to plan a garden weddingSouthern California offers plenty of sunny days year round and makes the outdoor garden wedding all the more appealing.  There are a couple of things to remember.

  • Check to see if a permit is required.  Many State and City parks allow weddings, but you must have a permit.

  • Are there restrictions on caterers or bringing in alcohol for the bar?  Can you have live music or only a DJ?  And make sure you know what time the party must end.  There are usually noise ordinances in place.

  • Are there other restrictions in place to protect the environment?

  • Just in case, there is inclement weather, what is the back-up plan?  Can you tent the area or is there a building where the wedding can be held?  On the other hand, if your wedding is in the middle of summer, is there adequate shade for the ceremony and the reception?  Can you install umbrellas if needed?

  • Make sure your photographer checks out the gardens beforehand to seek out the most photographic spots. Also find out if maybe there are some areas you will not be able to go to have photos taken.

Finding a perfect garden spot can very easy.  Don’t forget Golf Courses, Public areas of residential communities or a beautiful backyard. A great Wedding Coordinator can help you turn these spots into the ideal location.

Here are some great places for Garden Weddings:

San Diego Botanic Gardens in Encinitas.  With three different ceremony sites to choose from and a beautiful outdoor space for the reception, The Botanic Gardens make for a dream of a wedding.  My favorite ceremony site there is the Walled Garden.

San Diego Garden Wedding Venues, garden weddings, how to plan a garden weddingKeys Creek Lavender Farm in North San Diego County. They have rows of lavender and rosemary and labyrinths of lavender in an idyllic setting. There is a ceremony area under a wonderful pergola and a gorgeous patio that seats up to 150. There is even a Tuscan style mansion adjacent to the farm that has accommodations for 50 people.

Villa de Flores Gardens located in Beautiful Rancho Santa Fe California. They have locations that feature large and small patio areas, a lush expansive lawn, rose gardens, gazebos and atriums. Also there are Italian gardens, barbecues and fire places, as well as waterfalls and ponds.

The Living Desert in Coachella Valley. Located in Palm desert, CA this is very unique setting with different packages and sites to choose from.  You can even arrange for animal meet and greets for your guests!  It is a wonderful mix of succulents, waterfalls and lush palm trees.

Whether you choose your local City or County Park or beautifully landscaped Garden Event space, creating the perfect Garden Wedding in Southern California can create memories of your Wedding Day that will not be long forgotten by you or your guests. If you are interested in any of the above venues, please feel free to give me a call.
